Art Reach

An important mandate for nurturing the arts, creativity
and talent by the Association for Visual Arts is rooted
in its ArtReach programme.

Initiated in the late 1980s, the ArtReach fund serves to assist artists. Over the years the ArtReach programme has funded a broad spectrum of artists’ needs, including: art materials, art workshops, art tuition, framing, studio rentals, new galleries in schools, exhibition costs for shows at the AVA, catalogues and a host of other art related activities. AVA ArtReach has launched several emerging artists who have gone on to achieve success. Future plans are for artists residencies in the gallery spaces and elsewhere. In addition to running workshops such as Printmaking workshops, How to Write an Exhibition/Funding Proposal, the AVA is dedicated to seasonal internship programmes that where we provide a training ground for art practitioners who want to pursue a career in art administration, curatorship, and art management, among others. The AVA has received funding for ArtReach from the National Lottery, as well as from the National Arts Council and some prominent, established artists. Specific donations towards ArtReach are always welcome.
